Computer glasses can be a great investment if you spend a lot of time in front of screens. Here are a few reasons why they might be beneficial for you:
-
Reduce Digital Eye Strain: Prolonged screen time can cause digital eye strain, also known as computer vision syndrome. Symptoms include dry eyes, headaches, and blurred vision. Computer glasses are designed to reduce these symptoms.
-
Blue Light Protection: Screens emit blue light, which can interfere with your sleep cycle and potentially harm your eyes over time. Many computer glasses have lenses that filter out a significant portion of blue light. Check with your Optician to be certain you are getting the correct lenses.
-
Improve Comfort: Wearing computer glasses can make it more comfortable to work at a computer for extended periods. They often have a slight magnification, which reduces the effort your eyes need to focus on the screen.
-
Enhance Productivity: By reducing eye strain and discomfort, computer glasses can help you stay focused and productive for longer periods.

A CONTACT LENS IS A MEDICAL DEVICE THAT SITS ON YOUR EYE. I will often get questions or stories from Contact Lens wearers who should take better care of their contacts which are worn directly on their corneas. It is not like glasses where the lenses have a vertex distance from the eye. I look at the contact lens as a medical device that sits directly on the eye. What follows is a link that will refresh your memory on the care and handling of your contact lenses. https://www.webmd.com/eye-health/ss/slideshow-contact-lens-tipshttps://www.webmd.com/eye-health/ss/slideshow-contact-lens-tips
Eyes getting tired? Do you work at a computer, tablet, etc. most of the day? Getting headaches? I am not a doctor. But, you may be suffering from Computer Vision Syndrome. Follow the 20/20/20 rule. Every 20 minutes take a 20 second break and focus on something 20 feet away. Remember to do a full blink. When we are staring at our computer we forget to blink and our blinks tend to not be complete. Think about it. Also, get yourself computer glasses with a blue blocker anti reflective coating. If you do not normally wear glasses get plano prescription lenses.
